Ballandie Privacy Policy
This policy describes how the mobile game Ballandie (Android, com.pesstudios.ballandie) by PeS studios (“we”) handles user data. Contact: info@pesstudios.com.
Summary
You can play the whole game without registering and without ads. The current version of the game has no accounts, uses no analytics and sends nothing about you – everything stays on your device. Paid level sets and the optional “coffee” are bought through Google Play. Once we add an optional account for leaderboards, the Account and leaderboards section below will apply to it.
What the game stores on your device
- your progress (completed levels, best times, the last game played),
- your settings (player name, tilt sensitivity and calibration, sound, theme),
- levels you draw in the editor (My levels).
We do not send this data anywhere. If Android automatic backup is turned on, the system may back up the app’s data to your Google account. That backup is managed by Google according to your settings; we have no access to it. Uninstalling the game removes the data from the device.
Account and leaderboards (optional, not in the game yet)
In the current version of the game you cannot create an account and nothing in this section is processed. Once accounts are available and you create one in the Leaderboards section, we will process:
- sign-in – with a Google account or an email and password via Google Firebase Authentication (processor: Google Ireland Ltd.). Firebase stores your email and, for an email account, your password (in encrypted form) and sends the verification and password reset emails. Our server uses only the account identifier from the sign-in; we do not store your email or password;
- the nickname you choose – other players see it in leaderboards – and when you created the account and last sent results;
- your best results (level and daily maze times, Endless distance) and when you achieved them – shown in leaderboards with your nickname.
We store the data on Cloudflare servers (D1 database) until you delete the account. Delete it in the game (Leaderboards → Account → Delete account) or as described on the Delete your Ballandie account page. The legal basis is providing the service you request (leaderboards).
Paid level sets
Paid sets are bought through Google Play; Google processes the payment. The game sends our server only the purchase confirmation (a Google Play token) so it can verify it with Google and give you the set. We do not store the token or any payment details.
Buy us a coffee
In Settings you can buy us a coffee if you like. Google Play processes the payment, the purchase unlocks nothing and the game sends nothing about it to our server.
Downloading levels
When you open More levels in Classic, the game downloads the list of sets and the sets you choose from pesstudios.com. The request contains no data about you; like any website, our provider (Cloudflare) sees your IP address in transit, which we neither store nor analyse.
Sharing editor levels
You can send a level from the editor to a friend as a text code. The code contains only the level itself (the layout of obstacles and its name). The game copies it to the clipboard and opens the system “Share” sheet – you choose where to send it (a message, an e-mail…), and the game does not send it anywhere else.
Two-player mode
In two-player mode two phones connect to each other directly – over your local Wi-Fi network, or without a network using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct (Google Nearby Connections, part of Google Play services). The phones exchange only your player name and the game data (the tilt and the ball position, or an editor level the host starts – it is saved to the other player’s My levels). Two-player mode does not go through our servers. The connection ends when you leave the game.
Nearby Connections is provided by Google Play services on your phone and is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Permissions
- Network and Wi-Fi – to download level sets, for leaderboards (with an account) and to find the other phone and play together on the local network.
- Nearby devices (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct) – to connect two phones directly without a network. On older Android versions the system calls this permission location; the game does not use your location.
The game asks for these permissions only when you start two-player mode. Single-player games need no permissions.
Children
The game collects no data from anyone, including children. The account and leaderboards, once available, will be intended for players aged 13 and over.
